It’s now more than 50 years since President John F Kennedy articulated the concept of consumer rights in his historic message to the US congress. We mark this date every year with World Consumer Rights Day. Yet in many countries the goal of realising these rights is still a long way off. That’s why we are working so hard to make sure that consumer protection measures are in place around the world. In recent years we’ve championed the interests of consumers at the very highest level, from bringing the UN Guidelines for Consumer Protection up to date, to influencing international standards, and calling for United Nations recognition of World Consumer Rights Day on 15 March.

By using our collective might to campaign about consumer justice and protection, we can ensure that the interests of consumers all over the world are represented and safeguarded for years to come.
