Centro para la Defensa del Consumidor (CDC)
Centre for Consumer Defence
Established in 1991, the Centro para la Defensa del Consumidor (CDC) is the most important and most developed consumer organisation in El Salvador. The two main priorities of CDC are: to organise and strengthen local groups that defend consumer rights and to influence public policies which are relevant to the consumer interest. CDC focuses its work on public services, in particular drinkable water and electricity. CDC carries out different activities to support this focus: research, legal advice, capacity building, publishing, all of which undertaken to complement their campaign strategies.
