Asociación Peruana de Consumidores y Usuarios (ASPEC)

Crisólogo Cáceres President of the Peruvian Association of Consumers and Users (ASPEC) and sits on the Board of Consumers International. Alongside these duties, he is Director and Conductor of the radio programme ‘La Voz del Consumidor’ on the Radio Nacional of Peru and Director of the magazine ‘Consumo Respeto.’ He is a representative of consumer associations before the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) Consumer Board.

ASPEC is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation established to promote and defend the rights of consumers in Peru. Its main activities are: to inform and educate consumers; to denounce abuses in the marketplace and take legal action whenever required; and to campaign to raise the awareness of Peruvian consumers on a wide range of issues such as food, labeling, false advertising and public utilities. ASPEC sits on various committees and is a member of several utility regulatory bodies.
