Consumers Korea

Miran Mun is the president of the Consumers Korea (CK) and the Korea National Council of Consumers Organizations (KNCCO). She began her career as a founding staff member of CK and has dedicated decades to the consumer movement. Her background spans distinguished leadership roles, including work as a former attorney, vice Mayor of the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and Chair of the Board of Seoul Scholarship Foundation. Currently, she serves as the Chair of the FSC Financial Consumer Ombudsman Committee, a member of the Prime Minister’s Consumer Policy Committee, and a board member of the National Health Insurance Service.

Established in 1983, CK is one of the most active consumer organizations in Korea as well as globally. CK strives to create a safer and fairer market for consumers as well as an economy based on the principles of sustainable development and social-economic justice. CK enforces consumers’ rights and represents their interests through the publication of a magazine, SOBIJA REPORTS, based on results from test and research; lobbying; campaigns and the provision of consumer advice. Priority areas in recent years have included food safety, sustainable energy & consumption, standards, environmental protection and a call to scrap the medical treatment act.
