On 18 June 2026, Consumers International will bring together leaders from across the energy, consumer and policy landscape to explore a critical question: how can energy systems better serve the people who need them most?

As energy poverty affects billions globally and vulnerability deepens through rising costs, climate pressures and digital transformation, the need for more inclusive energy services has never been more urgent. We will mark the launch of the Blueprint for Inclusive Energy Services: Recommendations for the Italian Marketplace — a practical framework designed to help the energy sector better respond to the needs of consumers in vulnerable circumstances, with a particular focus on Italy’s ageing population, and with lessons applicable worldwide.

This publication is the first output of Consumers International’s global Blueprint for Inclusive Energy Services initiative, aimed at supporting fairer, more inclusive energy systems.

Why this matters

  • 2.4 million households in Italy face energy poverty
  • Nearly 40% of people aged 75+ live alone
  • Rising costs, digital barriers, and isolation are leaving many behind

Energy is an essential human need, and everyone deserves to be included in the energy transition.

What you will gain

  • Insights into real challenges facing consumers in Italy and beyond
  • The 10 key actions to make energy services more inclusive
  • Practical solutions for businesses, policymakers, and civil society
  • Perspectives from leading organisations across the energy ecosystem

Speakers to be announced soon.
