Upoma Husain
Upoma Husain is a development professional in financial inclusion, economic empowerment for women, social performance and impact management in various developing countries. She has designed and managed microfinance programs, conducted monitoring and evaluation studies for poverty alleviation projects, and designed tree crop renovation and rehabilitation (R&R) projects for smallholder cocoa farmers in West Africa. She has worked in Bangladesh, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Myanmar, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and the USA.
Upoma holds a Master of Global Human Development from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and a Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her academic focus was agriculture food security and rural livelihood, social enterprise and quantitative methods. Upoma was a Global Social Enterprise and Development Fellow at Georgetown.
