Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau (CPAB) - Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau (CPAB), stands at the forefront of advancing consumer welfare in the Philippines. As the primary government agency championing consumer rights and responsibilities, the DTI is committed to promoting fair trade practices, ensuring product safety, and empowering Filipino consumers to make informed choices. It fulfills this mandate by crafting sound policies and implementing proactive programmes that safeguard consumer interests while supporting inclusive economic growth.
Beyond enforcing trade and consumer protection laws, the DTI actively disseminates timely and relevant consumer information through its public education campaigns. Regularly released Consumer Alerts, Tips, and Advisories aim to raise awareness on emerging consumer issues and guide the public in making smart purchasing decisions.
To further strengthen consumer protection, the Department offers accessible channels for the speedy resolution of consumer complaints through its Consumer Complaints Assistance and Resolution System (Consumer CARe System). It also supports the formation and development of consumer organisations.
