Save the Consumers Initiative
Save The Consumers Initiative is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) established in 2016 with the mission to protect and promote the rights and interests of consumers across Nigeria. The organisation is dedicated to educating consumers about harmful products and service contents, while also protecting and informing them about the importance of safeguarding their health. It advocates for improved service delivery, promotes consumer education on general goods, services, and ethical business practices, and works to expose and oppose the exploitation and unfair treatment of consumers. Furthermore, it enlightens consumers about their rights regarding the quality, quantity, potency, purity, standards, and pricing of goods and services, and raises awareness about the dangers posed by hazardous goods and services that could threaten life, health, or property. With a national membership of 15 dedicated individuals, Save The Consumers Initiative operates nationwide and remains firmly committed to consumer advocacy. Since its inception, the organisation has been a consistent and influential voice for consumer rights, hosting annual conferences and increasingly being consulted by government authorities on vital consumer-related policies and decisions.
