National Consumer Commission
The National Consumer Commission was established in terms of section 85 of the Consumer Protection Act no.68 of 2008, as an organ of state within the Public Administration and as an institution outside Public Service with jurisdiction throughout the Republic of South Africa. Its mandate is to promote and protect the interest of consumers, improve access to and the quality of information so that consumers are able to make informed choices, promote and provide consumer education, protect consumers from hazards to their well being and safety, as well as develop effective means of redress for consumers.
