Ministry of Trade, Industry and Commerce

The Consumer Affairs Department was established in the Ministry of Trade in 1997. Consumer protection and consumer education are the two core functions of The Department. The Department is comprised of two units: one is responsible for investigating complaints received from consumers and the other is responsible for information dissemination. The Department is staffed with 15 employees and is headed by a Director and deputy Director. The Department is affiliated to the Caribbean Consumer Council (CCC).
