Korean National Council of Consumer Organisations (KNCCO)
First established in 1976 with four founding organisations, the Korea National Council of Consumer Organisations (KNCCO) now comprises of nine national consumer organisations and coordinates 182 regional complaints centres. KNCCO was created to support its member organisations in consumer protection activities and to help them achieve more effective consumer outreach. In addition to dispute resolution, KNCCO offers consumer training programmes for grassroot volunteers. It conducts a consumer price survey. Through innovative research and policy analysis, KNCCO lobbies policy-makers and regularly represents consumers on various public committees. Finally, KNCCO provides information to consumers and maximises the impact of its campaigns through the publication of a monthly magazine called 'the Consumer'.
