Empower India

Empower India - Centre for Consumer & Environment, Education, Research, and Advocacy is a registered Voluntary Consumer Organisation working in the grassroots communities for the past 33 years. It has special status with United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), is accredited to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and received the Best Voluntary Consumer Organisation Award from Government of Tamil Nadu, India.

It represents consumers in various government advisory committees advocating for policy level changes. Empower India also conducts consumer complaint handling clinics and intervention programmes for the public, and raises interest on consumer issues like digital fairness and greenwashing. Empower India's mission is to create consumer awareness and to protect consumer interests and rights.
