Cyprus Consumers' Association (CCA)
The Cyprus Consumers Association (CCA) is an independent, non-political, non-governmental, and non-profit-making association with more than 500 members and is mainly supported by subscription fees and a small governmental grant. The consumer organisation was founded in 1973. CCA campaigns on all consumer issues to achieve a high level of consumer protection for all consumers in Cyprus and maximize the benefits of the single market for consumers.
Its representatives sit on Cyprus’ Standards Committees, on the Government Council for Consumer Affairs and on some 30 advisory Committees on various other issues. The Association is very active in promoting public awareness and it runs a number of different educational activities for adults and children. It is active on a range of issues pertaining to food and product safety, food hygiene, health, GMOs, consumer legislation and Information and Communication Technologies. The Association also runs a complaints and advice service at its offices situated in Limassol and Larnaca.
