Forum Konsumentów
Consumer Forum Foundation
The Consumer Forum Foundation (FFK) was an independent non-governmental organisation that, over six years of activity (from 2018 to 2024), became a significant part of the Polish consumer movement. Established on June 18, 2018, and registered in the National Court Register under number 0000736677, with its headquarters at ul. Franciszka Klimczaka 17, apt. 80, Warsaw (NIP: 5242866651, REGON: 380537866), its goal was to strengthen the position of consumers in the market. Its mission was based on the slogan “Consumer Power: Dialogue, Determination, Decisions” – promoting informed choices, advocating for fair communication with businesses, and initiating legislative changes.
FFK was created in response to the growing challenges of the Polish consumer market, such as misinformation, unfair commercial practices, and gaps in consumer education. The founder and president was Agnieszka Plencler, an expert in consumer rights, who previously collaborated with organizations like the Aquila Association. The Foundation quickly gained recognition through its active participation in public debates. It officially launched on March 15, 2019, on World Consumer Rights Day, emphasizing the need for an objective consumer voice. It collaborated with numerous institutions, such as Amazon and the Polish Cosmetics Industry Association, enabling the implementation of nationwide projects. FFK’s statutory goals included promoting consumer rights, education, and advocacy. The organization focused on three pillars:
- Education and Awareness-Raising: It published reports such as “Why Does (or Doesn’t) the Consumer Want E-commerce?” (2024) and “Taken for a Ride: The State’s Helplessness Against Illegal Beer Advertising.” In 2025, it continued discussions on the financial exclusion of seniors due to bank digitization.
- Social Campaigns: Examples include “Rules for Safe E-commerce for Seniors” (2025, infographics on verifying sellers and payments) and “Taken for a Ride” about alcohol advertising. The campaign “Live Authentically: Counterfeit Goods, Counterfeit Style” (December 2023, an online initiative about counterfeits with a reach of 8 million unique users) discouraged purchasing fakes, emphasizing the emotional aspects of authenticity. Another campaign, “I Am a Consumer: I Have Rights, I Have Influence,” promoted consumer activism.
- Events and Networking: The annual “(Un)conscious Consumer” Congress (the last one held in March 2024 in Warsaw, involving 12 cities under honorary patronage) brought together businesses, experts, and consumers. Topics included e-commerce, finance, and cosmetics.
