Defensoría del Consumidor de El Salvador (DEFENSORÍA)

Defensoría del Consumidor is the Salvadorian Consumer Protection Government Agency in charge of applying the Consumer Protection Law and of coordinating the joint action of the institutions of the public administration. It was established in 2005. The mission of Defensoría del Consumidor is to promote and effectively protect the rights of consumers, facilitating the resolution of consumer disputes with high standards of quality, warmth and innovation, bringing services to the population and improving consumer knowledge of their rights.

Defensoría del Consumidor is also involved in strengthening market surveillance and strengthening the joint action of the National Consumer Protection System, to contribute to a better functioning of the market and legal security in their consumer relations.
