Association of Consumers and Users
ACU – Associazione Consumatori Utenti, founded in 1984, is a non-profit organization headquartered in Milan with branches across all the country, committed to protecting the rights of citizens, consumers, and users. ACU is recognized as one of the most representative associations at the national level, in accordance with Article 137 of the Italian Consumer Code and, therefore, is an effective member of the CNCU - National Council of Consumers and Users.
The association directs its efforts primarily towards food safety, environmental protection, and the safeguarding of vulnerable consumers, with a strong emphasis on ethical principles and sustainability. It also engages highly qualified experts who contribute to product and service certification processes and actively participate in the technical committees of standardization bodies at both national and international levels.
ACU consistently promotes sustainable consumption, supports the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approach, and has fully embraced the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, endorsing its principles, goals, and targets.
