Financial education

Whether you're looking for a mortgage, or opening a bank account for the first time, having the know-how to negotiate complex financial products is essential. Yet few of us have ever received adequate financial education.

Financial illiteracy is an issue across the world and, with around 150 million new consumers of financial services joining the global economy each year, the problem is on the increase.

Consumer groups are ideally placed to provide financial education and raise awareness about consumer rights when purchasing or using financial services.

CI is working with our members to ensure consumers have the skills to manage their money, the advice they need to make the right financial decisions and the confidence to ask questions and defend their rights.
