ISO 26000 is the first global guidance standard on
social responsibility. Together with our member organisations, we
are lobbying for it to be adopted by companies so consumers can
independently judge their ethical and environmental
credentials.
This new standard is very important because it will set out how
organisations that claim they are socially responsible in their
working practices can give clear and comparable feedback to
consumers.
ISO 26000 was published as an ISO International Standard on 1
November 2010.
Video: how ISO 26000 was developed
As part of the launch of ISO 26000, in a video interview in May,
Sadie Homer explains ISO 26000, COPOLCO and why corporate social
responsibility is important to both companies and
consumers.
