Associação Brasileira de Defesa do Consumidor (PROTESTE)

PROTESTE, the Brazilian Association of Consumer Defence currently has more than 200,000 members and is the largest association of consumers across Latin America. It is a non-profit and non-party political organisation, independent of government and companies which vows to strengthen consumer purchasing power and consumer awareness through comparative tests and publications and to provide services to consumers such as dispute resolution and legal advice. Each edition of their monthly magazine ‘Pro Teste’, launched in March 2002, contains more than 40 pages of results of tests of goods and services.
