Helen McCallum

Director General

Helen McCallum has accepted a secondment from Which? to CI as Acting Director General. She will remain at CI until a substantive DG is appointed. Helen joined Which? in 2007, as Director of Policy, Advocacy and Communications. Her previous career was spent in a variety of leadership roles within the UK: as Director of Corporate Affairs for the UK Environment Agency 2001-2007; Director of Communications in the UK Government Department of Health 1999-2001 and Head of Communications for the National Health Service 1994-1999. She has served on CI Council since 2010 and on BEUC Executive since 2007.

Bjarne Pedersen

Global Director - Partnerships and organisational empowerment

Bjarne is responsible for oversight of CI policy, media, campaigns and fundraising. Academic qualifications include a MSc in Human Nutrition, as well as a MSc in International Environment Policy. Bjarne has been in the consumer movement for more than 15 years and started working at CI as a policy officer in 2001. bpedersenATconsintDOTorg

Indrani Thuraisingham

Head of CI Office for Asia Pacific and the Middle East

Indrani has been with CI since 2007 although she has been actively involved in the consumer movement for the past 15 years. A lawyer by training, she heads CI’s regional office in Kuala Lumpur, covering the Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Her many responsibilities include strengthening the consumer groups in the region through capacity building, and campaigning and networking with like-minded organisations. indraniATciroapDOTorg

Juan Trimboli

Head of CI Office for Latin America and the Caribbean

Juan began working with CI in 1988 as coordinator of the consumer education programme. He now leads the coordination of regional activities and policies from CI’s office in Santiago, Chile, working with the member organisations, consumer protection agencies, civil society networks, regional bodies and private entities. jtrimboliATconsumidoresintDOTorg

Robert Michel

Head of CI Office for Africa

Robert came to Consumers International from many years working in international broadcasting, community development and relief. He has worked in more than 30 African countries in the past two decades. He aims to strengthen and unite the African consumer movement to become 'the voice' for all Africans on the continent and beyond. rmichelATconsintDOTorg

Luke Upchurch

Head of Communications and External Affairs

Luke has been with CI since 2004. Based in London, he heads up the Communications team across CI's offices and leads on CI's external affairs. Prior to joining CI, Luke worked for various media organisations in the UK and West Africa. lupchurchATconsintDOTorg

Justin Macmullan

Head of Campaigns

Justin has been with CI since 2007. Based in London, he is responsible for CI’s global campaigns. Prior to joining CI, Justin worked for a UK development agency on campaigns such as the cancellation of poor countries’ debts, international trade and climate change. jmacmullanATconsintDOTorg

Chryssi Tzanetou

Head of Development

Chryssi has been working for CI since 2003. Based in London, she oversees the organisation’s development of global, regional and national programmes in line with CI’s thematic priorities and with support from institutional donors. Pat Onoapoi

Global Member Services Coordinator

Pat joined CI in 2010. Based in London, she develops membership processes and implements CI's services to members, ensuring that member concerns are integrated into all CI's activities. Julian Knott

Head of Secretariat, Transatlantic Consumer Dialogue

Julian works to ensure that the consumer perspective is represented in EU-US policy discussions. He coordinates consumer input to the Transatlantic Economic Council. Before joining CI in 2007, Julian worked as a researcher at UCL’s School of Public Policy and prior to that for a European consultancy firm based in Brussels. jknottATconsintDOTorg

Candice Ramssar

Regional Programme Officer - Caribbean

Candice joined CI in 2009. Based in Kingston, Jamaica, she coordinates the Caribbean project which focuses on institutional strengthening of consumer organisations, public information and financial services. Kate Scott

Office Manager & Human Resources Officer

Kate joined CI in 2008, following a period in 2007 Managing CI's World Congress. Based in London she manages office logistics and services, facilitates the global HR function of the Management team and supports the DG on Governance issues.
