Italian consumer groups assist shipwrecked passengers

Italian consumer
organisations have come together to help passengers of the
shipwrecked Costa Concordia wishing to pursue their right to
redress.
CI member Altroconsumo
has placed a sample redress letter on its website in English, French and Italian, and
launched a media campaign to raise awareness of the assistance
consumer organisations are able to offer.
Altroconsumo, together with other consumer groups across Italy,
have formed a national shipwreck committee, the Comitato Naufraghi,
to address the impact on passengers and their rights as consumers.
The committee is holding direct negotiations with US-based Carnival
Group, the owners of the stricken ship.
