Spain: Worst Company of the Year nominees announced by FACUA

Nominations for the FACUA Worst Company of the Year
award have opened. Spanish consumer rights organisation and CI
member, FACUA, have announced the nominees as Bankinter, Ryanair,
Movistar, Power Balance and Vodafone.
There are five nominees in each category, selected by FACUA after
analysing proposals made by consumers, their territorial
organisations and departments of Communication, Legal and Technical
Analysis and Control of Advertising, Products and Services.
Other categories
In addition to Worst Company of the Year, other categories
include:
Worst Practice of the Year, which includes tricking consumers
into giving over their mobile phone numbers with surveys and then
charging exorbitant rates to receive the text messages.
Worst Advert of the Year, which includes an advertisment for
Actimel by Danone for changing the name of the bacteria L Casei
Inmunitas for L Casei Danone.
Winners
The 'winners' of the Worst Compnay of the Year will be announced
on 15 March 2011, coinciding with World Consumer Rights Day.
