Australia: 2010 CHOICE Shonky Awards 'winners'

For the fifth year running, CHOICE Australia has handed
out 'gongs' for the 'shonkiest' goods and services, detrimental to
consumers.
The 'winners' of gongs in 2010 inlcude:
Nurofen, for promoting different packets of painkillers for
different pains, despite all containing virtually identical
ingredients.
Extra virgin olive oils, for not being 100% extra virgin olive
oil in many cases in CHOICE tests of 28 brands.
Coles, a leading Australian supermarket that offers a clubcard
caleld 'Flybuys'. CHOICE calculated an average weekly spend would
take 7 years to accrue enough points for a domestic flight, whereas
the points themselves expire after just 3 years.

Other winners include LG, the Commonwealth Bank and
