Singapore and Malaysia: Help for cross-border consumer disputes

26 Aug 2010

Singaporeans who have consumer related disputes with vendors in Malaysia can now get help from the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) to resolve them.

This follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its counterpart, the Federation of Malaysian Consumers Associations (FOMCA).

It paves the way for a cross-border consumer dispute resolution mechanism.

Likewise, Malaysian consumers can seek FOMCA's assistance if they have dispute with vendors in Singapore.

It's the fourth MOU CASE has signed with consumer associations overseas.
