The Green Action Fund is an annual award that aims to promote sustainable development by organising awareness and advocacy activities that encourage sustainable patterns of consumption.

The fund is made available by our partner, the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, and administered by Consumers International, with the campaigns being delivered during September and October 2017. Participating members will host key events during Green Action Week, the annual global campaign running between 2-8 October.

Consumers International will also be organising a series of training webinars to help the chosen grantees maximise the impact of their planned campaigns.

Global action for Sustainable Consumption

This year our members will be running 25 campaigns in 21 countries across five continents. The winners - nine from Africa, nine from Asia Pacific, four from Latin America, two from Europe and one from the Middle East – will be tackling issues ranging from the impact of pesticides on domestic rice production to finding space for organic farming in urban areas.

What our members say

We thank the donors, SSNC, and Consumers International for giving us the opportunity once again, to work on this project. Last year’s campaign was hugely successful and rewarding. We are hopeful that more farmers will be sufficiently encouraged to switch to organic farming and more students will take to terrace gardening as a result.”
