Guarantees minimum price
Fair Trade's principal criteria is to guarantee farmers a minimum price that covers the costs of sustainable production and living.

Funds community development
The label works with cooperatives and organised groups of small-scale farms and provides funds for use in community development projects.

Better working and living standards for plantation workers.
Fair Trade also works with organised workers, whose employers pay decent wages, guarantee the right to join trade unions and provide good housing.
